Footprints of Forgiveness

In a town where whispers dance on the breeze,

I ponder a truth that’s brought me unease.

Sometimes I yearn to mirror what I see,

To treat folks just as they’ve treated me.

Yet in the heart of my character’s embrace,

I find a gentleness, a softer grace.

Not to repay with the same bitter tone,

But to rise above, to stand alone.

Amidst the chatter of the bustling square,

I resist the urge to retaliate, declare.

For my character weaves a different thread,

A tapestry of kindness, where empathy is spread.

In the market’s hustle, where secrets are shared,

I hold back the impulse to act impaired.

Though shadows of harshness may try to encroach,

My character whispers a kind reproach.

Through cobblestone streets where judgments may roam,

I navigate with a kindness to call my own.

A smile in response to a scowl’s cruel tease,

My character blooms in moments like these.

In the café where bitterness may be brewed,

I sip on compassion, my spirit renewed.

For my character’s compass points to the light,

Guided by principles, strong and bright.

Past the alleys where grudges may hide,

I choose forgiveness, let resentment subside.

In the rhythm of my character’s song,

Forgoing revenge, I choose to be strong.

Within the gardens of understanding and grace,

I plant seeds of goodwill in this humble space.

For my character flourishes in the face of disdain,

Nurturing kindness through sunshine and rain.

Down the lanes where judgment may roam,

I walk with humility, making kindness my home.

For in the tapestry of character’s design,

Love and compassion forever entwine.

So, in this town of whispers and shade,

I choose a path where kindness won’t fade.

Though others may falter, unkindness decree,

My character stands strong, boundless and free.
